Features
- Clear ordering of content. All pages are accessible from the top navigation bar and are 1 click from any other page.
-
Easy PDF download. Download entire report or relevant pages from anywhere on the website.
-
Supporting information, such as graphs, is hidden in ‘dropdowns’ until required.
-
‘Automated’ bar graphs that are easy to create and edit.
Clear layout and site plan
It’s a very straightforward site with a clear, simple layout.
There’s a single navigation menu at the top linking to every page. All content is in 1 column. A full PDF of the report can be downloaded from anywhere on the website using the always available sidebar. A PDF of just the section the visitor is looking at can also be downloaded using the same sidebar.
‘Automated’ bar graphs to save time
Bar graphs are drawn in the browser using data included in the code. They are not uploaded images. This means creating and editing them is straightforward and quick. There’s no messing about with spreadsheets, graphics software and uploading. This is a much quicker and easier way of building graphs, saving time and money.

AWARD WINNER!
This website contributed to SYFAB winning the ICAEW Charities Online Financial Reporting and Accounts Award (£250k to £1m income category) 2013.
The award aims to “increase transparency by rewarding best practice in financial reporting, raise the standard of web-based financial reporting for greater impact and accessibility and encourage more charities to do their financial reporting online.”

Online annual reports
It’s no surprise to see more organisations publishing their annual reports on the internet.
It can be less expensive (there are no print costs anyway) and an online report can, of course, reach significantly more people than a printed one.
An online annual report can show how open your organisation is and form part of your marketing as well. 1
You can, of course, add photos but a website also allows you to use videos and interactive elements to really bring your work alive and engage with a much wider audience.2
(A one page website could be a stylish, quick and concise way of getting your annual report online.)
- Have a look at this website which discusses online reports and gives some interesting examples.
- More people will watch a 3 minute video about your year than go through your spreadsheets.
