One page website.
Summary
A ‘demo’ website showing how a one page website can contain an organisation’s essential information on 1 easy-to-navigate responsive page.
It includes a slideshow/gallery, downloadable file section and a contact form with ‘live’ checking: it tells you about any errors before you send it.
The website can, of course, be infinitely customised.
Why would you want a one page website?
Low cost
I can build you a one page website for less than a couple of quarter page ads in next week’s recycling. ((Additional features and customisation will obviously add to your costs but it’s still great value.)) The example website is just a basic idea. I can customise its appearance to suit your business. ((I will be doing some variations in future but if you want me to give you a quick idea using different colours and typefaces, let me know.))
Fast, clear information delivery
Some websites don’t need to do much more than provide basic information to customers. A one page website can do this quickly, clearly and stylishly on desktop, tablet and phone.
A one page website can also be a hub for your many and various social media accounts as well.
High impact, focused marketing
You have a fantastic new product that deserves more than a generic product slot on your corporate site. It needs its own special space on the internet. Somewhere you can market it more effectively with its own web address, branding, social links and analytics, videos, mailing list sign up, all that. And you want to make sure your customers to miss your ‘call to action’ – enquiry form, brochure download, mailing list signup or event registration.
Going global
You’ve asked about getting your main website translated but the cost and the amount of work required have put that idea on hold. However you probably don’t need it all translating, just enough info for your overseas customers to find you on Google, download your translated brochures easily and contact the right sales person or distributor.
With my one page website, translation is easy. Create your one page website in English. All the content, everything you see on screen, is in 1 single text file. Send this file to your translator. Your translator directly translates this file (no copying and pasting required). I upload it to the server and that’s it! A translated website! ((Note: there might need a little adjustment needed to account for the different space different languages occupy. Yes, I’ve done this before.))
Coming soon
I am going to do a v2.0 of this so check back again. Tweet me if you’re interested.
